The Go for Faux collection by Lion Brand is one of my all time favorites for amigurumi. It’s the best choice if you want to make something that doesn’t looks completely store bought — you can’t see any of the stitches!
I bet you could fool anyone by telling them you bought any of them but what makes them even more valuable is that they are hand-made.
You will pour so much love and time into these projects, and they’ll be worth so much more than something you could buy.
This list contains amazing gifts for last-minute invites and beautiful pieces your loved ones will cherish for a long time.
Some pieces are simple and fast, while others are more of a statement piece and take a little longer to finish.
However, don’t let that demotivate you, all of them are very easy and beginner friendly.
I bet you’re sitting there as excited as ever with your new yarn and can’t wait to get started on your next project, so let’s have a look at the patterns.
Table of Contents
1. Sir Clucksalot the Amigurumi Chicken
I love this little chicken pattern. It is so adorable and easy to make. It makes for a perfect crochet project to sell at fairs and charity events.
You can make a lot of them in a very short time and you don’t even need a lot of yarn. It is a lovely decoration both for your home or your bags and clothes.
You can attach it to your keychain too!
2. Dapper Cat Crochet Cuddler
Cats and crochet. Two of the best things in the world.
I love the little bow on Dapper, the cat, it adds a lot of personality to this adorable cuddler.
You can place it as pictured above or on top of its head.
If you want to use it as a decorative pillow, you can make multiple with different bow placements.
It is the perfect accessory for a night in. Hold it while watching your favorite show and you will spend the coziest night of your life.
3. Secret the Fluffy Cat
This pattern was created a while back when my sister asked me to create a miniature of her cat, Secret.
Secret is a Siberian cat with really long and fluffy hair, which made her the perfect inspiration for the “Go for Faux!” yarn collection.
The crochet Secret can be positioned standing up, lying down, or sitting, just like the real-life Secret.
If you’d like to crochet this pattern yourself or just look at photos of the real Secret, follow the link under the picture.
4. Fluffle the Crochet Bear
It’s basically a law that you can’t write a list of cute and fluffy things without mentioning teddy bears.
To follow this rule, I had to include Fluffle. Another amazing crochet project that doesn’t look like crochet at all.
Fluffle is the perfect gift when confessing your feelings to someone, surprising your loved ones, and for yourself.
If your plushie collection is missing a teddy bear, you have to make one as soon as possible.
You can take some inspiration from the Care Bear cartoons and make a set of different colored teddy bears.
5. Teddy Bear Purse
Can’t get enough of teddy bears? Crochet a teddy bear purse!
This way, you can take your friend with you everywhere you go and they’ll even hold your stuff for you.
It is a wonderful gift to make for a last-minute baby shower or a kids’ birthday.
It’ll bring a smile to their face, for sure.
What’s even more amazing is that you can customize the color to match what you usually wear.
6. Marylin Faux Fur Pillow
If you’re looking for a bigger project, you could try making faux fur home decor.
You can start your collection by making this beautiful faux fur pillow.
It’ll be the softest and fluffiest pillow in your living room or bedroom.
I love the design of the Marylin pillow because it is more interesting than a simple faux fur pillow.
Have some yarn left over? How about crocheting a matching throw following the next pattern?
7. Faux Fur Throw
To continue the faux fur home decor line, give this throw a try.
It is a great choice on those cold winter nights you just want to stay at home and relax.
You can make a small version to gift at a baby shower, or an oversized one for yourself to make sure you will be tucked in completely.
Nothing is worse than having a blanket that’s just a little too short.

8. Faux Fur Sheepskin Rug
Sheepskin rugs were one of the trendiest home decor pieces a few years back.
Some people think it was just a short-lived trend. That after everyone got one of their own, they quickly grew tired of it.
However, that couldn’t be further from the truth! They keep reappearing every few months.
If you were scared to commit to sheepskin rugs, this is your chance to try them out.
Even if people get tired of them some day, you’ll have a personal connection to it, because you made it.
How awesome is that?
If you like the ones with brown and black spots, you can follow the pattern and change yarn colors from time to time.
Search for a photo online to reference if you don’t know how to start.
9. Snow Bloom Jacket
Finally, one of the most luxurious pieces on the list. When I found this pattern I couldn’t believe my eyes.
This is crocheted? And free? I had to scroll down to the instructions right away to make sure.
I love how unique every outfit becomes when paired with this coat jacket. It fits a lot of different styles.
It is the perfect piece to dress up a casual outfit for a night out, whether you gravitate toward simple, timeless pieces, or the latest trends in fashion.
