With Valentine’s Day approaching, I decided to make a quick scarf for my son using this beautiful red yarn. I happen to be in Norway at the time and one of my favorite activities while visiting any country is exploring local yarn stores to discover unique textile. There , in one of the shops, I came to know this wonderful yarn by danish brand Permin. The color I chose is called Agnes Red and it is 75% merino, 15% yak y 10% cashmere. For the blue, I chose Berta by Permin, which is 55% wool and 45% cotton. Regarding the crochet hook, the 3.5 or 3.75 MM will do the job.

This is a very easy stitch great for beginners since it is the same all along the project. It can be made as a loose scarf, headband or an infinity scarf. Once you learned how to do it, you won’t need a pattern at all, that simple it is!. I love the sleek look of it, and the tinny spaces in between the stitches add a delicate, airy quality to the scarf, reducing bulk and enhancing the drape. This design choice ensures the scarf is unisex and no age limit, perfect for anyone and everyone.

The length and width depends totally on you, therefore the numbers of chains. Given that my son has a small neck, I have decided on dimensions of 44 inches in length and 6.5 inches in width, which should provide ample coverage making this a nice handmade gift that I hope will keep him warm and remind him of this special Valentine’s Day.

Now, let us begin… shall we?
