If you love crocheting but don’t have the time to commit to a whole garment (or blanket *sobs*), I found 6 amazing crochet beanie patterns that will all take you under 2 hours to make.
Most of these patterns are geared towards complete beginners, and a few of them involve a technique that allows you to turn a rectangle into a beanie, making the process even easier.
The way that most of these patterns are able to be so fast is because they use category 5 (bulky) or higher weights of yarn! For making warm cozy winter hats, I recommend a yarn that has some amount of wool in it. Lion Brand’s Hue and Me is an excellent choice because it’s machine washable, 80% acrylic and 20% wool, and comes in an array of mix and matchable colors.

This slightly slouchy easy child’s crochet hat pattern works up in about an hour and is perfect for beginners because it’s made from a simple rectangle.

2. Chunky and Stylish Beanie

This project requires you to work in the round and also use a stitch pattern, so if you’re a complete beginner, then feel free to save this one for later.
3. 30-Minute Chunky Hat
This super chunky hat can be whipped up insanely quickly thanks to the super bulky yarn that this pattern calls for. Even though it’s super fast, the bottom still has the cutest ribbed detailing, so don’t let anyone tell you that speedy doesn’t mean stylish!
4. Easy Breezy Chunky Beanie
This incredible pattern is created from a simple rectangle, and also includes a step by step video tutorial for all the beginners out there. The top is cinched shut by incorporating a hair band, so that you can wear your hair up while staying warm!
