17 Adorable and Cuddly Crochet Bunny Free Patterns

Spring is in the air, and my favorite part of the season is seeing baby bunnies! Rabbits are a staple of springtime and Easter, so let’s check out some adorable crochet bunny patterns! Whether you want to make a cuddly amigurumi, a fun item of clothing, or some Easter décor, you’ll find the perfect pattern in this round-up.

We’ll start with amigurumi bunnies, so grab your yarn, some stuffing, and some safety eyes!

1. Bunny Ballerina

This bunny is so adorable in its little dress, and there’s even a matching version in overalls! Both patterns are super easy as long as you know how to work in the front loop only and back loop only. I made one of these rabbits using Premier Parfait Chunky yarn, and it turned out super soft and cuddly!

2. Amigurumi Keychain Rabbit

This little rabbit is made with sport-weight yarn like YarnArt Jeans. Isn’t it just so cute holding its carrot?! The pattern calls for easy stitches and includes helpful pictures, so this is a great project for beginner crocheters.

3. Classic Crochet Bunny

This is a cuddly, classic bunny that you can make with either a curly, fluffy yarn like Lion Brand Homespun Thick and Quick, or with a standard worsted-weight yarn if you’re still getting the hang of amigurumi. I think the bunny would also turn out great if you use jumbo chenille yarn!

If you’re new to working with curly or fluffy yarn, don’t worry—the designer has included tips in her pattern. For this project, you’ll need to know basic stitches plus the sc3tog and hdc2tog stitches, which are both explained. This would be a good stuffed rabbit to make if you have a bit of crochet experience and want to learn new skills!

4. No-Sew Crochet Bunny

Looking for a smaller bunny? Check out this pattern! These rabbits are tiny, cute, and don’t require any sewing! They can even fit in a plastic Easter egg so you can include them in an Easter egg hunt! For this project, you’ll need Premier Parfait Chunky yarn, plus smaller yarn and embroidery thread for the details. The pattern includes helpful photos, and you’ll only need to know simple stitches plus the bobble stitch, which is explained.

5. No-Sew Pocket Pal Rabbit

These amigurumi bunnies are so small and adorable with their big poofy tails. This is a wonderful project for beginner crocheters, because the pattern uses easy stitches, has links to tons of tutorials, and includes lots of helpful notes.

6. Long Legged Crocheted Bunny

I’m in love with these long-legged bunnies! Their proportions are just so adorable! For this project, you’ll need worsted-weight yarn and knowledge of basic stitches, so definitely check out the pattern if you’re new to crochet.

7. Bruna the Bunny

This little rabbit is so cute with her shirt and bow. One of the most fun things about this pattern is that you can mix chenille and standard yarn, though of course you could make Bruna in all chenille yarn or all standard yarn, as well. She’ll be adorable no matter what you choose! Best of all, she’s made with simple stitches.

8. Easter Bunny Peep

Peeps are a great part of Easter, and these amigurumi versions are so easy to crochet—plus, they’re more cuddly and less sugary than a marshmallow Peep! For this project, you’ll need bulky chenille yarn like Premier Parfait Chunky. Because these crochet Peeps are made with basic stitches, they’ll work up super quickly.

9. Small Bunny Peep

Here’s another sweet bunny Peep pattern, and this one is perfect if you prefer crocheting in rows rather than rounds. You’ll just need to know basic stitches plus the sc3tog decrease.

10. Crochet Bunny Egg

These bunnies are perfect for Easter because they’re Easter egg shaped! They’re a fun, customizable project because you can choose whether to attach floppy ears or ears that stand up straight, and because you can give each bunny a different cute face. For this project, you’ll need worsted-weight yarn, a 3.5mm hook, and knowledge of basic stitches.

11. Crochet Bunny Lovey

Here’s an amigurumi bunny and baby blanket all in one! For this project, you’ll need DK yarn in whatever colors you prefer, plus knowledge of simple stitches.

12. Aunt Lydia’s Crochet Bunny Hat & Booties

Babies need clothes as well as loveys, so why not crochet this adorable bunny-themed hat and bootie set? These items fit 12-month-old babies and are made with two strands of crochet thread held together. You’ll only need to know simple stitches plus the double-crochet decrease (dc2tog), which is explained in the pattern.

13. Crochet Bunny Hat

And if the whole family wants a bunny hat, look no further than this cute pattern! It includes seven sizes that will fit newborns through adults, and you only need to know simple stitches. The designer recommends using buttons for the bunny’s eyes, but if you are making a hat for a baby or toddler, I suggest using felt instead to avoid choking hazards.

14. Easter Bunny Potholder

If amigurumi or hats aren’t your thing, there are a variety of other adorable bunny-themed items you can crochet, too! I especially love this bunny potholder, which is made using the tapestry crochet technique. If you’ve never done tapestry crochet before, never fear—the pattern links to a tutorial! When making this fun kitchen accessory, be sure to choose 100% cotton yarn so it’s heat-safe.

15. Bunny Egg Basket

This basket is perfect for Easter egg hunts! To make one, you’ll need worsted-weight yarn plus pom-poms for the rabbits’ fluffy tails. The pattern calls for easy stitches, but make sure you’re comfortable with color changes before you start.

16. Crochet Bunny Garland

This bunny garland is the perfect way to decorate your house this spring! It’s made with worsted-weight yarn and simple stitches plus the puff stitch and front-post half-double crochet. These stitches give the garland a fun texture, as do the bunnies’ adorably fluffy tails!

17. Crochet Bunny C2C Blanket

For this blanket, you’ll need to know the C2C (corner-to-corner) technique, which is an amazing way to make blankets and afghans with fun cartoon-like designs. The pattern includes links to both free and paid tutorials for this skill, and once you’ve got the hang of C2C, making this blanket will be a breeze! My favorite part is that you can use fluffy yarn for the bunny’s inner ears!
